The Ohio State Buckeyes are determined to get back to the top of the mountain in as many sports as possible and are ready to invest historic sums of money to ensure they get there.
According to Chase Brown of Eleven Warriors, Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork has claimed that Ohio State will soon be the first college athletics program in history to have a $500 million budget. He believes it could happen within two to three years.
"Ross Bjork said Ohio State will be the first college athletics program to have a $500 million budget. Bjork said that could be two years away, three years away or more, but the Buckeyes are trending in that direction," Brown wrote on X.

Just over a year ago the Ohio State Buckeyes were on top of the world in football. They had just won the national title for the first time in a decade and were positioning themselves to be a powerhouse in college football for years.
But a narrow loss to Indiana in the 2025 Big Ten Championship Game followed by a stunning one-and-done in the College Football Playoff at the hands of the Miami Hurricanes have fans more eager than ever to see them back on top.
It certainly doesn't help that neither the men's or women's basketball teams are picking up the slack. The men haven't reached the Sweet 16 since 2013 while the women have been better but still struggled in the NCAA Tournament over the past few seasons.
It's not clear how Ohio State would divvy up a half-billion dollar operating budget but you have to imagine that they'd be getting every top of the line offering that college sports have to offer.
