The 2026 college football season is almost here, and it seems like an eternity since Ohio State lost to Miami in a College Football Playoff quarterfinal Cotton Bowl matchup. There has been no shortage of news in the offseason as the sport continues to morph into unfamiliar territory at breakneck speed.

Something that hasn't changed is all of the Buckeye players appearing on the preseason All-American teams, watch lists, and more, and we like to keep track of all of them as we get peppered with them on an almost daily basis now so close to the season.

From the Maxwell Trophy preseason watch list to the Associated Press preseason All-American team, here's a look at all of the preseason honors for the Ohio State football team, with a little help from the releases coming out from the Ohio State Dept. of Athletics.

Phil Steele Ohio State preseason honors

  • Six Ohio State players were named preseason All-Americans by the publication, while 16 Buckeyes were placed on the preseason All-Big Ten team

Athlon Sports

  • Seven Ohio State players were named preseason All-Americans by the publication while 16 Buckeyes were placed on the preseason All-Big Ten team.

Walter Camp Preseason All-Americans

  • Junior wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and redshirt junior offensive lineman Austin Siereveld were placed on the first team while redshirt sophomore quarterback Julian Sayin was listed as a preseason second team selection by the organization.     

Lott IMPACT Trophy Watch List

  • Kenyatta Jackson Jr., Defensive End
  • Jermaine Mathews Jr, Cornerback

AFCA Good Works Nominees

  • Jaylen McClain, Safety
  • Ryan Day, Head Coach

Shiriner's Children's East West Bowl 1,000

  • Ohio State football had 19 players selected to the Shriners Children's East-West Bowl 1000. The list includes a representative from almost every position room at Ohio State including five defensive lineman, four offensive linemen, three safeties and three wide receivers.

  • Junior wide receiver Jeremiah Smith was placed on the first time while offensive linemen Luke Montgomery was listed on the second team and Austin Siereveld was placed on the third team.

  • Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and quarterback Julian Sayin were both named to the first team ahead of the 2026 season.

Doak Walker Watch List

  • Bo Jackson, Running Back

CBS Preseason All-Americans

  • Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith and offensive lineman Luke Montgomery were both named to the first team ahead of the 2026 season.

Associated Press Preseason All-Americans

  • Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith was named a first team selection and offensive lineman Luke Montgomery was placed on the second team ahead of the 2026 season.

  • Jeremiah Smith, Wide Receiver

Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Watch List

  • Julian Sayin, Quarterback

Senior Bowl 300

  • Ohio State had 16 players selected to the Senior Bowl 300, the most of any school. Four different position rooms had three or more selections to the Senior Bowl 300.

Polynesian Player of the Year Watch List

  • Chris Henry Jr., Wide Receiver

Davey O'Brien Watch List

  • Julian Sayin, Quarterback
