Bo Bryan is no stranger to the spotlight even if it's a little different than what he's used to.

The son of country music star Luke Bryan, Bo grew up with millions around the country already knowing who he was because of who his dad is. On Saturday afternoon, Aug. 22, Bo will get the opportunity to shine on the national scene, doing something a bit different from what his dad is known for.

Bo is set to start for Battle Ground Academy (Franklin, TN) high school football Saturday afternoon in an ESPN-televised game as the Wildcats travel down to Fairhope, Alabama, for a showdown with St. Michael Catholic.

The game is set to kickoff at 1:30 p.m. ET/12:30 p.m. CT.

While St. Michael Catholic quarterback Gunner Rivers is entering his fourth season as the program's starter, the game marks career start No. 1 for Bo. Here's everything you need to know about him before his first high school start.

A lot of experience despite no previous starts

Saturday may be Bo's first start, but it's far from the first time that he's played in a game.

Bo has played at BGA for all four years of his high school career and played behind long-time starter Kaedyn Marable for much of that time. Marable, a Columbia enrollee, was a Mr. Football finalist two years ago and last year won the award while leading the Wildcats to their first state championship since 2003.

With BGA dominating many of the opponents they played over the last two seasons, Bo saw plenty of live game action, making appearances in 17 games. For his career, he's 41-of-63 passing for 523 yards and seven touchdowns with three interceptions.

Last season, he saw the most playing time of his career, appearing in nine games and throwing for 336 yards and five touchdowns.

Bo had some standout performances as a junior but his best start came during his sophomore season. That year he went 7-for-10 in the Wildcats' regular season 49-7 win over Goodpasture, passing for 121 yards and a touchdown.

College prospects

This season may give Bryan an opportunity to shine not only on the field, but to garner some interest from some colleges waiting to see what he can do as a full-time starter.

According to 247Sports, he's ranked as the No. 141 quarterback in the 2027 recruiting cycle and the No. 68 player in Tennessee.

He currently holds offers from Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky, ETSU, North Alabama and UT Martin.

No shortage of weapons

One of the keys to Bo and BGA's success this season will be his ability to get the ball consistently to what many view as one of the deadliest receiver duos in the country.

Junior four-star Maximus Curry and rising five-star sophomore Maddox Porter were virtually unguardable last season, combining to catch 135 passes for 2,951 yards and 47 touchdowns.

Porter led all freshmen in the country with his 1,547 yards and 27 touchdowns. Curry ranked fifth amongst sophomores in yardage with 1,404 yards and second in touchdowns with 20.

Behind Bryan, the Wildcats also returned starting running back Fletcher Fields (708 yards, eight touchdowns) and his playing behind one of the most experienced lines in the state led by 2028 four-star Koehn Dial and Western Kentucky commit Justice Pittman.
