SEC media days will take place next week in Tampa, Fla. The Oklahoma Sooners will be on the docket on Monday when Brent Venables takes the main podium, and a trio of players will represent the program in front of the media. Today, the league announced which players will be attending next week’s SEC Football media days.

For the Oklahoma Sooners, it’ll be John Mateer, Eddy Pierre-Louis, and Taylor Wein. Mateer continues a streak of five straight seasons where Oklahoma’s quarterback has attended the preseason media event. Dillon Gabriel represented the Sooners at Big 12 media days in 2022 and 2023. Jackson Arnold was out front at Oklahoma’s first SEC media days in 2024. Mateer, along with R Mason Thomas and Robert Spears-Jennings, was at SEC media days in 2025.

Taylor Wein experienced a breakout season last year and has been a key voice leading the Sooners’ defense this offseason. From being an underrated three-star signing in the 2023 recruiting class to one of Oklahoma’s best defensive players, Wein has been one of the best stories to come out of Norman in recent years.

It’ll be a homecoming for Tampa native Eddy Pierre-Louis. The Tampa Catholic product was a four-star signing for the Sooners in the 2024 recruiting class and became a full-time starter in 2025. He’s become known for his big personality off the field and his violent presence in the middle of the Sooners’ offensive line.

The Oklahoma Sooners are slated for the afternoon session on Monday. SEC commissioner Greg Sankey will kickoff the event at 8 a.m. CT. Missouri’s Eli Drinkwitz will follow the commissioner, and Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables will conclude the morning session.
