The Oklahoma Sooners apparently weren't impressive enough in their 51-0 win over the UTEP Miners. Because they dropped one spot in the latest AP Top 25, falling out of the top 10 after Week 1. They also dropped one spot in the US LBM Coaches Poll despite a dominant performance over the Miners.
The Oklahoma Sooners came in at No. 11 in this week's AP Poll.
LSU was certainly impressive in their 51-10 win over Clemson. Lane Kiffin and his squad came out with a purpose against Dabo Swinney's Tigers to start the season.
Seven teams earned a first-place vote, led by Ohio State, which received 46. The Georgia Bulldogs came in at No. 2 without receiving a first-place vote in the AP Top 25. Notre Dame, Texas, Indiana, Oregon, Miami, and LSU all received first-place votes.
Oklahoma's next opponent, Michigan, fell out of the top 25 after their controversial win over Western Michigan. The Wolverines were expected to be a top-15 team when the Sooners traveled to Ann Arbor. Now the Sooners will face a hungry, unranked Michigan squad eager to prove Week 1 was a fluke.
It's up to the Sooners to stem the tide of emotion that comes from the Wolverines and simply take care of business on the road.
Here's a look at the rest of the AP Top 25.
