Ole Miss football running back Kewan Lacy ignited the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium crowd by scoring the first touchdown. But the star caused concerns too late against LSU in Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford.
Lacy needed to leave for the locker room. All amid a concerning shoulder injury, college football insider for On3 Pete Nakos reported.
“Kewan Lacy is officially questionable to return with an upper-body injury,” Nakos posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Lacy wasn’t on the field during LSU’s epic rally.
Tigers quarterback Sam Leavitt first cut the lead to 24-14 in the third by calling his own number, scoring from five yards. But Leavitt turned to his arm on the next drive. He lobbed a 26-yard touchdown to Winston Watkins in the right corner of the end zone, slicing the lead to 24-21.
Lacy and the Rebels entered inside a sold out crowd inside their Oxford venue. Saturday’s game marked the return of the former head coach Kiffin. Only this time he took on the villain role.
Kiffin delivered a first-ever College Football Playoff run with the Rebels in 2025. But began to have his name attached to the LSU opening after the Tigers fired Brian Kelly midseason. LSU ultimately flashed a $90 million contract to help coax Kiffin into coming to Baton Rouge. Kiffin, however, made the attempt to stick around Ole Miss during its playoff run before taking over at the rival SEC school. That never came into fruition and Pete Golding eventually took over.
But now Golding and Ole Miss must operate the rest of the night without Lacy.
