Ole Miss sold a mind-boggling amount of booze vs. LSU

An unnamed source at Ole Miss has said the return of Lane Kiffin, the record breaking attendance and the party atmosphere at Vaught-Hemingway resulted in more than $900,000 in alcohol sales.

The Talk of Champions podcast host Brad Logan tweeted the news on Monday afternoon. This is a staggering number even given the high prices for beers and hard seltzers in the stadium.

Now this was an early arriving crowd just absolutely ready to scream its collective head off against Kiffin and hated rival LSU. The student section was nearly full an hour and a half before kickoff and the stadium appeared mostly full an hour before the game, so the party went from the Grove to the Vaught earlier than usual for this top ten tilt.

For perspective, Ole Miss visited Knoxville in 2021 at Neyland Stadium which holds more than 100,000 fans for Kiffin’s return to his other former school. The Vols reported $547,726 in beer sales that day in what was considered a raucous crowd.

Long story short – Ole Miss won the game and the party, and other than a few incidents, there was nothing majorly out of hand from what we have heard. Cheers!
