Will the Oregon Ducks be on the field today in Week 5 of the college football schedule?

Following an emotional 41-27 win over the USC Trojans last weekend, Oregon has its first bye week of the season. The Ducks are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in Big Ten play. Oregon is also ranked as the No. 15 team in the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Oregon's first bye week comes at an incredibly convenient time for the Ducks, with the team coming down from what was an emotionally taxing weekend down in Los Angeles. Starting quarterback Dante Moore, one of the biggest leaders of the team, was knocked out of the game with a scary concussion and sent to the hospital in an ambulance. Tensions were high during and after that moment, but backup quarterback Dylan Raiola did a fantastic job of coming in and leading the Ducks to victory.

This week off will now give Moore some additional time to recover, while Raiola gets more preparation to take over as the starter while No. 5 is on the mend. It also gives the Ducks some extra time to prepare for their next game: a big top-25 matchup against the No. 23 UCLA Bruins back at home.

UCLA also has a bye week ahead of the Ducks-Bruins game on October 10, at 12:30 p.m. PT. UCLA is 4-0 and looking to prove that they can be this year's version of the Indiana Hoosiers, with new head coach Bob Chesney at the helm.

ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) gives Oregon an 84.9% chance to beat UCLA in Week 5, and the Ducks are favored by 12.5 points, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
