With the 2026 college football season on the horizon, the Oregon Ducks and head coach Dan Lanning will seek redemption after leaving with plenty to desire in 2025.

Last year, the Ducks managed to reach the semifinals of the 2025-26 College Football Playoffs, but were swiftly defeated by the eventual National Champions, the Indiana Hoosiers. Luckily for the program, Lanning did an excellent job of retaining multiple key veterans from last season and adding a handful of playmakers via the transfer portal.

Now, with the Big 10 Media Days finally underway, Oregon's top stars are gaining national recognition, with quarterback Dante Moore and safety Koi Perich receiving All-Big Ten honors ahead of the 2026 season.

Moore, Perich's Impact With Oregon

The Ducks' offense in 2025 was one of the best in the Big Ten Conference, thanks to the terrific efforts of Moore.

After spending the 2024 season behind the likes of former quarterback Dillon Gabriel, Moore wasted no time making a name for himself in his first year as Oregon's starting quarterback. The former highly touted high school prospect finished his 2025 campaign with 3,565 passing yards, 30 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions, while also leading the Ducks to a 13-2 record.

Moore's impressive run last year quickly made him one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 NFL Draft class, but to the surprise of many, the talented playmaker decided to return to Eugene for the 2026 season, in hopes of boosting his draft stock.

On the other side of the ball, former Minnesota Golden Gophers star safety Koi Perich is set to be a significant chess piece on defense this season.

In his two seasons with the Golden Gophers, Perich accumulated 128 tackles, six interceptions, five pass deflections, and five tackles for loss. His outstanding showings throughout his college career granted him plenty of accolades, including a spot on the AP First Team All-Big Ten team as a freshman.

With former star safety Dillon Thieneman being selected in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, Perich is the perfect replacement for the Ducks' secondary unit this season. His versatility on defense will allow Oregon's defense to use him in many different ways, and he will be the glue to hold the front seven and the secondary unit together in 2026.
