Oregon State wide receiver Jesse Legree has quietly been one of the best wide receivers in college football this year.
Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith and Miami’s Malachi Toney get the headlines, but Legree has also been ridiculous and continued his outstanding season against Washington State on Saturday. He finished with eight receptions for 102 yards and two touchdowns, helping Oregon State improve to 5-2.

Legree now has at least 100 yards and one touchdown in all seven of Oregon State’s games to start the year. Per ESPN Insights, that seven-game streak is the second-longest streak within a season in the last 20 years.
Justin Blackmon did it for 12 games with Oklahoma State in 2010.
Jesse Legree’s 2026 season thus far
This is Legree’s freshman season, and he’s already a stud. He came into Saturday’s game with 38 receptions for 932 yards and 12 touchdowns, and now has 46 receptions for 1,040 yards and 14 touchdowns.
He’s on pace to finish this season with 1,500 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns, and is the first player to reach 1,000 yards this season.
Legree will try to extend the streak eight games in a row and continue his Heisman Trophy campaign when Oregon State plays Fresno State on Halloween.
Kickoff for that contest will be at 11 p.m. ET.
