Pierre “P” Thomas appears to be making progress in his recovery after suffering a heart attack last month.
The Quality Control Music co-founder returned to social media Sunday for the first time since being hospitalized after suffering a heart attack in Las Vegas, weeks after false reports claimed he had died.
Thomas shared a black-and-white mirror selfie to his Instagram Story on Sept. 6, Complex reported. He wore a hoodie and held up his phone for the photo, adding praying hands, a purple heart and raised hands emojis but no written message.
The post marks Thomas’ first known social media update since he was hospitalized Aug. 21 after suffering a heart attack. Quality Control confirmed that day that Thomas was alive and receiving medical care while asking fans to respect his and his family’s privacy.
Three days later, TMZ reported that Thomas remained hospitalized in Las Vegas but was improving. His daughter, Journey Thomas, later called his recovery a “miracle” in an Instagram post, writing that she was grateful he was still alive.
False reports that Thomas had died also circulated after his hospitalization. Both Quality Control and Thomas’ mother publicly denied those claims. His mother said her son was healing and recovering, while the label continued to ask for privacy.
It remains unclear whether Thomas has been released from the hospital and no public confirmation of his discharge has been made.
Thomas co-founded Quality Control Music with Kevin “Coach K” Lee in 2013. The Atlanta label helped build the careers of artists including Migos, Lil Baby, City Girls and Lil Yachty and became one of the most influential hip-hop labels of the 2010s.
The latest update offers the clearest sign from Thomas himself since the health scare, even as details about his current condition and whether he remains under hospital care have not been publicly disclosed.
