Potential quarterback change on the horizon for Deion Sanders, Colorado

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders looks likely to make a quarterback change for this Saturday’s game against No. 12 Texas Tech.

Julian Lewis was benched by Sanders in Colorado’s 23-13 loss against Baylor after throwing for only 75 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions. Lewis was replaced by Isaac Wilson, who threw for 156 yards and one touchdown.

Sanders didn’t announce who would start on Saturday, but according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, Wilson’s expected to start. On3’s Pete Nakos confirmed that report on Wednesday.

Who is Isaac Wilson?

Wilson is the younger brother of Zach Wilson, who is currently with the New Orleans Saints and was selected second overall in the 2021 NFL Draft by the New York Jets.

Wilson was part of the 2024 recruiting class and was a four-star recruit, per 247Sports composite rankings. He was the second-best recruit in Utah and the No. 280 overall recruit in the nation.

This is Wilson’s first season with Colorado after spending two seasons with Utah. He originally committed to Utah out of high school before transferring to Colorado.

Kickoff for Saturday’s game between Colorado and Texas Tech will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
