Prep roundup: Lawrence County picks up three wins

Aug. 28—MOULTON — The Lawrence County volleyball team went 3-0 in a series of games played on Thursday.

The Red Devils defeated Good Hope 2-1 (22-25, 25-22, 15-8), Russellville 2-0 (26-24, 25-8) and Brewer 2-0 (25-17, 25-17).

Kamryn Melson led the way with 23 kills. LA Nowood added 17 kills and Faith Potts had 35 assists.

Lawrence County will be back in action on Tuesday at home vs. Priceville.

Austin downs rival Decatur, Columbia: Addison Garth had 14 kills and Amari Woods had 11 digs and eight kills as Austin swept Decatur and Columbia on Tuesday.

Maggie Jae Marsh finished with 26 assists, five digs and five aces.

Priceville sweeps Danville and Athens in tri-match: Josi Langlois had 17 digs and 13 kills as Priceville picked up 2-0 wins over Danville and Athens on Tuesday.

Addison Dumas added 16 assists and 13 digs, while Maddie Hames had 12 digs and nine kills and Bailey Smyth had 14 digs.
