Penn State football will have a completely overhauled roster to get to know in 2026 under new head coach Matt Campbell. Following one of the most active offseasons in recent memory for Penn State with a flurry of activity in the transfer portal, fans will have a lot of catching up to do in getting to know this year’s Penn State roster. Fortunately, not every face will be brand new to fans. Regardless, we will be here to give you a fresh overview of every player on the roster for the 2026 season with a series of player profiles.

Recruiting Rankings

Class of 2024: Composite 4-star recruit, No. 15 offensive tackle per 247Sports

Garrett Sexton was the top-ranked player coming out of the state of Wisconsin in the Class of 2024 and a four-star recruit in the recruiting cycle, according to recruiting services like 247Sports.

Sexton was shown great recruiting interest by Matt Campbell when at Iowa State, so there should be some good familiarity with Sexton by the incoming coaching staff, which is a nice benefit. Iowa State was one of the first schools to extend an offer to Sexton in the recruiting process back in January 2023, following an unofficial visit back in September 2022 (Sexton’s first visit in the recruiting process). Penn State first extended an offer in March 2023 and he committed to the Nittany Lions the following month.

Career Stats

Garrett SExton redshirted as a true freshman in 2024 but earned high marks as one of the developmental players of the week by the coaching staff four times throughout the season. Sexton appeared in 13 games for Penn State during the 2025 season but did not record any starts.

Depth Chart Overview

Where Garrett Sexton ends up on the offensive line depth chart will be interesting to see, but it is probably most likely he ends up being the top alternative behind incumbent starter Anthony Donkoh, who is the team’s only returning starter on the offensive line from last season. Donkoh is likely moving from right guard to right tackle this season. The other alternative may be to see if Sexton can win a starting job on the opposite side of the line from redshirt freshmen Malachi Goodman and Owen Aliciene.

Random Fact

Despite being one of the top-rated players in the state of Wisconsin, Garrett Sexton was not extended a scholarship offer by the Wisconsin Badgers until three days before his commitment to Penn State.
