2026 – Season Outlook

Watson is now in his third year with the program. During his first season, where he redshirted, he caught just one pass for 16 yards against Indiana State. Last year he appeared in all 12 games and finished with 8 receptions for 80 yards but also 2 TDs. Those were against some big time competition in Ohio State and Notre Dame. He’s got the talent, now can he put it all together when Purdue desperately needs help at the WR position? He should have plenty of opportunities this season to get on the field for the Boilermakers. I don’t expect him to start but he’ll get plenty of reps.

2026 – Season Outlook

Hampton was a Second Team Junior College All-American last season as a Golden Norseman (I just love that mascot name). He’s taken a big step up into the Division I ranks and especially the Big Ten. Make all the jokes you want about Purdue football and junior college (hahaha you’re so funny), but it is a huge step up. Hampton was a stat stuffer during his lone season in the JUCO ranks. Obviously getting to that level during his first year at Purdue would be incredibly impressive, but it’s likely he needs at least a season of getting acclimated to the playbook, the style of play, and just the jump from one level to the next. However, he’ll have opportunities on special teams and likely in the rotation in the defensive backfield.
