Ranking Texas A&M's 7 remaining opponents from easiest to toughest

Texas A&M finally gave its fans something to feel good about with a 34-7 victory over Arkansas. The Aggies controlled the game on the ground, limited the Razorbacks to 214 total yards and earned their first SEC win of the season.

The win did not erase what happened against Kentucky and LSU, but it showed what A&M can look like when Marcel Reed plays within the offense and the defense limits explosive plays. The Aggies are now 3-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play with seven games remaining.

Several future opponents strengthened their position over the weekend. Missouri dominated No. 8 Florida, Alabama remained undefeated with another convincing win and Tennessee bounced back by beating Auburn. South Carolina lost another close game, while Oklahoma and Texas had the week off before the Red River Rivalry.

Here is an updated ranking of Texas A&M’s seven remaining opponents from easiest to toughest heading into Week 6.

7. Texas A&M vs. Citadel – Week 7

2026 record: 2-3

Analysis: The Citadel earned an impressive 34-31 road victory over nationally ranked South Carolina State behind Gavin Garcia’s three touchdowns. That result should get A&M’s attention, but the Bulldogs remain the most manageable opponent left on the schedule.

6. Texas A&M @ South Carolina – Week 10

2026 record: 2-3

Analysis: South Carolina came close to ending its losing streak but fell 35-34 in overtime against Kentucky. The Gamecocks have now lost three straight, although playing at Williams-Brice Stadium prevents this from feeling like an automatic win for A&M.

5. Texas A&M @ Oklahoma – Week 12

2025 final record: 2-2

Analysis: Oklahoma had the week off after its 41-13 loss at Georgia. The Sooners have struggled offensively against stronger competition, but A&M will have to win in Norman late in the season. Their upcoming game against Texas should reveal whether the bye helped them correct some of their problems.

4. Texas A&M vs. Tennessee – Week 11

2026 record: 4-1

Analysis: Tennessee responded to its close loss against Texas by beating Auburn 24-14. The Volunteers remain one of the more talented teams on A&M’s schedule, but playing this game at Kyle Field keeps it below the road trips to Missouri and Alabama.

3. Texas A&M @ Missouri – Week 6

2026 record: 4-1

Analysis: Missouri made the biggest statement of any remaining opponent by beating No. 8 Florida 45-17. Austin Simmons threw for 340 yards, while Jamal Roberts rushed for 211 yards and three touchdowns. A&M’s improved defense will be tested immediately against a balanced offense at home.

2. Texas A&M @ Alabama – Week 8

Sep 5, 2026; Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA; Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Keelon Russell (12) celebrates his touchdown run with teammate Alabama Crimson Tide wide receiver Rico Scott (7) during the second quarter against the East Carolina Pirates at Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium. Mandatory Credit: David Leong-Imagn Images

2026 record: 5-0

Analysis: Alabama remained undefeated by rolling past Mississippi State 56-23. Keelon Russell accounted for four touchdowns as the Crimson Tide continued to show how quickly they can take control. A trip to Tuscaloosa remains one of A&M’s toughest assignments.

1. Texas A&M vs. Texas – Week 13

Sep 5, 2026; Austin, Texas, USA; Texas Longhorns edge Colin Simmons (1) reacts after recovering a fumble during the third quarter against the Texas State Bobcats at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Scott Wachter-Imagn Images

2026 record: 5-0

Analysis: Texas had the week off before facing Oklahoma in the Red River Rivalry. The Longhorns remain unbeaten and already own victories over Ohio State and Tennessee. A&M gets the rivalry game at Kyle Field, but Texas remains the toughest opponent left on the schedule.
