Rece Davis Names Major College Football Team He 'Can't Quite' Pick Against Yet

One of the most significant games in Week 11 of the 2025 college football season will occur at Memorial Stadium in Columbia, Missouri. The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies (8-0) will be traveling to face the No. 22 Missouri Tigers (6-2).

According to ESPN, Texas A&M is favored to win the game by 6.5 points, with a 56.1% chance of victory according to their matchup predictor. This game is significant for both teams, as each is aiming for its first appearance in the College Football Playoff.

On the “College GameDay Podcast,” hosts Rece Davis and Pete Thamel discussed the upcoming game. Davis expressed difficulty in predicting a loss for Texas A&M due to its strong performance this season.

“[Texas] A&M has won games in a variety of fashion,” Davis said. “They won a slugfest against Auburn. They’ve won a couple of high-scoring games against Arkansas and against Notre Dame. That’s really the mark of an elite team. They can beat you in a variety of ways. … You feel like there’s this step-on-the-rake moment coming. … I just can’t quite bring myself to pick against A&M the way they’re playing right now.”

As Davis pointed out, the Aggies are consistently finding ways to win this season. Early in the year, their offense was particularly strong, scoring more than 40 points in three consecutive games to start the season. This included a thrilling 41-40 victory against the No. 10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish on the road. Additionally, they secured a 45-42 win over the Arkansas Razorbacks later in the season.

The Aggies have also demonstrated their ability to win in low-scoring games, as shown by their 16-10 victory over the Auburn Tigers at home. Quarterback Marcel Reed is at the helm of the offense, having thrown for 1,972 yards, 17 touchdowns and six interceptions this season. Additionally, he has rushed for 349 yards and scored six touchdowns on the ground. According to FanDuel Sportsbook, he has the fourth-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy.

For Texas A&M, a win would solidify its playoff path and inch the Aggies closer to a perfect season. For Missouri, an upset would not only shake the SEC race but also thrust the Tigers into the national spotlight heading into the home stretch.

Texas A&M will face Missouri at 3:30 p.m. ET Saturday on ABC.
