The John Harbaugh era is underway in New York, and the reenergized head coach has already begun assembling a coaching staff capable of competing in the NFC East. Todd Monken is expected to be the Giants‘ offensive coordinator, but he’s now a finalist for the Browns head-coaching vacancy, and Harbaugh is covering all his bases by bringing along Ravens assistant head coach/running backs coach Willie Taggart.
Taggart was a longtime head coach (2010-2022) at Western Kentucky, South Florida, Oregon, Florida State, and Florida Atlantic. had been set to join Colorado’s staff under coach Deion Sanders, but instead joined Harbaugh in Baltimore.
Taggart, 46, finished with a 15-18 record at Florida Atlantic after a 9-12 record in under two seasons at Florida State. Overall, he is 71-80 as a college head coach, which includes a notable 10-win season at South Florida in 2016.
I’m told Willie Taggart will indeed be on the Giants staff. Very good addition. https://t.co/nnuiEwLIzs

Taggart spent three seasons in Baltimore, adding the assistant head coach title in 2025.
