Rutgers Football completes another big recruiting weekend

The Scarlet Knights have put together two consecutive busy weeks on the recruiting front.

Head coach Greg Schiano welcomed multiple commits to the Class of 2027. This is a busy time of year for official visits as prospects in the junior class begin to make decisions. Rutgers welcomed five more recruits this weekend.

Rutgers recruiting class in 2027 is now ranked No. 26 in the nation, according to 247Sports.

Take a look at the newest members of the recruiting class below:

  • Arnold Mugerwa, WR: The Scarlet Knights began by getting a midweek commit from the Pennsylvania wide receiver. Mugerwa is a three-star recruit who began getting plenty of attention. The 6-foot-3 product had other visits scheduled with Florida State, Virginia Tech, and Michigan State but will now cancel. Mugerwa eclipsed 1,000 yards during his junior year with 13 touchdowns.
  • Dextavion Reese, S: Reese became the first recruit in the class from the state of Georgia. Schiano has taken on a new level of recruiting by landing Reese. The defensive back held other offers from the likes of Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Toledo, Coastal Carolina, South Florida, and UNLV, among others.
  • Alijah Jones, OL: Jones became the second commit on Saturday. The three-star lineman is ranked as the No. 13 player in New York and 94th player overall. Jones held other big-time offers from Florida, South Carolina, Kentucky, Pitt, and Georgia Tech. Rutgers began recruiting Jones early and he remained a big target throughout his process.
  • Zane Keric, OL: Keric is another offensive line commit that came on Sunday. At 6-foot-7, 300 pounds, Keric has the makeup of a future Big Ten tackle. Keric held six others offers and an official visit scheduled to UCF but will not be making that trip following his announcement.
  • Dennis Glenn Jr., DT: Rutgers continued to broaden with a commit from a South Carolina defensive tackle. Glenn Jr. received his offer just a few weeks ago and committed during his visit this weekend. Glenn Jr. is the No. 9 player in South Carolina and 54th ranked defensive lineman in the nation. He is now tied with Mugerwa as the highest-rated recruit in Rutgers class.
