Amidst the bright lights of the Washington Huskies' first major official visit weekend was the Top Dawg Camp on Sunday, which yielded a handful of offers.

One of the first to report an offer from Jedd Fisch's coaching staff was sophomore Graham-Kapowsin High School two-way standout Jayce Halasz. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound Graham, Washington, native capped off an impressive May that began with Alabama and ex-Huskies coach Kalen DeBoer returning to the Evergreen State to offer Halasz, and also included Colorado State, UNLV, and USC, before the Huskies officially entered the mix.

Last fall, Halasz put up 1,019 receiving yards—sixth-most of any receiver in the state based on MaxPreps database—and 64 receptions with 8 touchdown catches over 13 games at wide receiver, already impressive production for just his second season on varsity.

At cornerback, Halasz recorded 30 total tackles (17 solo), 7 pass breakups, an interception, and a tackle for loss, though it appears most schools see the Evergreen State native as a receiver at the next level.

Halasz shows strong awareness at the catch-point and has ideal size with the potential to add to his frame without slowing down his plus-speed as an X receiver. His route running will get more refined over the next two years as he finishes his high school career at Graham-Kapowsin, which is why several schools, including UW, are entering early for the rising in-state sophomore.

Since Fisch took over at UW in January 2024, his staff has done an elite job of retaining the premier talent in the state of Washington.

In the 2027 class, the Huskies have secured the top in-state receiver, four-star Sumner (Wash.) junior Braylon Pope, and have done well to maintain the Big Ten program's stronghold of keeping the best talent in the state on Montlake. That doesn't appear to be changing with the staff pulling the trigger to offer Halasz.
