Steve Sarkisian set for Neyland Stadium return at Tennessee

No. 13 Tennessee (3-0) will host No. 1 Texas (3-0) on Saturday in Week 4 of the 2026 college football season.
Kickoff between the Vols and Longhorns is slated for noon EDT at Neyland Stadium. ABC will televise the SEC opener for both schools.
Saturday will mark Texas' first game at Neyland Stadium and its first regular-season game between Tennessee and the Longhorns. The schools have played three times, all in the Cotton Bowl. Texas leads the all-time series, 2-1.
Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian will return to Neyland Stadium for the first time since Oct. 24, 2020.
He served as Alabama's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach and guided Alabama to a , 48-17, victory over the Vols.
Alabama quarterback Mac Jones completed 25-of-31 passing attempts for 387 yards. He also totaled four rushing yards and one touchdown on five attempts.
Najee Harris recorded 96 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 20 attempts for the Crimson Tide, while Brian Robinson Jr. scored one rushing touchdown.
John Metchie III led Alabama in receiving yards (151) and recorded seven receptions.
Tennessee quarterback Jarrett Guarantano completed 13-of-24 passing attempts for 162 yards and two touchdowns. He also totaled 22 rushing yards on three attempts.
Eric Gray totaled 57 rushing yards on 19 attempts for Tennessee.
Jalin Hyatt led the Vols in receiving yards (86). He recorded two receptions, including one touchdown. Joshua Palmer also scored on one touchdown reception.
