Tennessee football projected for Music City Bowl rematch after Week 2

No. 14 Tennessee (2-0) enters Week 3 of the 2026 college football season. Rankings reflect the US LBM Coaches Poll.

Following Week 2, Erick Smith of USA TODAY released updated bowl game projections.

The Vols are projected for a rematch against Illinois (1-1) in the Music City Bowl. The Music City Bowl is slated for 3 p.m. EDT on Dec. 30 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Fighting Illini defeated Tennessee, 30-28, on Dec. 30, 2025 in the Music City Bowl.

2026 marks the final NFL season and Music City Bowl at Nissan Stadium. A new Nissan Stadium will open in 2027. Below are the Vols' all-time game results at Nissan Stadium.
