Tennessee State football vs. Alabama A&M live updates: Start time, TV channel

Tennessee State football will try to avoid going 0-3 for the first time since 2022, when the Tigers visit Alabama A&M on Sept. 12 in the Legacy Series in Huntsville, Alabama. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m. CT on SWACTV.

The 2022 Tigers actually started 0-4 under former coach Eddie George. It then won three straight.

Coach Reggie Barlow, in his second season, hopes for a similar turnaround following losses to Jackson State (26-24) and Georgia (63-3).

Alabama A&M is 1-1 coming off a 38-23 win over Miles College. The Bulldogs beat TSU 23-21 in the first game of the Legacy Series at Nissan Stadium in 2025.

TSU's passing game has vastly improved since 2025. Quarterback Daylin Lee, a transfer from Winston-Salem State, has completed 34-of-60 passes for 327 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions.

The running game is still abysmal. Lee is the leading rusher with just 34 yards on 15 carries. The Tigers are ranked 110th in the FCS, averaging 49.5 yards per carry.

 Tennessee State vs. Alabama A&M prediction

Tennessee State was never in the game on Sept. 5 at FBS power Georgia. The Tigers came close to beating Jackson State in the season opener and should be eager to have another shot at a win on Sept. 12 against another HBCU rival.
