Texas A&M transfer WR discusses 'chemistry' with QB Marcel Reed

Texas A&M's 2026 wide receiver rotation, along with the Aggies' loaded secondary, is considered the team's primary strength, especially after landing Alabama transfer Isaiah Horton, whose relationship with starting quarterback Marcel Reed goes back to their high school playing days in Tennessee.

Among the record 10 players selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, star wide receiver KC Concepcion, who led the team in receiving yards (919) and touchdowns (9), combined with nearly 500 punt return yards and two scores, was picked 24th overall by the Cleveland Browns, making star junior WR Mario Craver, who was second on the team with 917 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns Reed's next No. 1 target.

However, Craver, paired with Ashton Bethel-Roman and Terry Bussey, represents the wide receiver room's speed and versatility, while Isaiah Horton's 6'4" frame and experience at Miami and one season with the Crimson Tide don't just provide new OC Holmon Wiggins with much-needed size on go balls, but also a sure-handed receiver and mismatch on slants, especially on third down.

During one of the Aggies' final scrimmages, Marcel Reed connected with Horton on a 30-plus-yard throw, showing off his improved deep-ball accuracy, while all the intel we've received this fall has centered on Horton's reliability and leadership as one of the oldest players on the roster.

Chemistry between Marcel Reed and every wide receiver who will see the field this season is extremely important given the offense's need to push the ball down the field at a more consistent rate, but Holmon Wiggins is all about the team and spreading the ball around equally, and he did reveal that he and Reed continue to work out in one-on-ones every practice.

"We've built chemistry. He has grabbed me and embraced me and shown me the Aggie culture."

"We do our own one-on-ones off the field, but other than that, it's about the team."

Going along with Mike Elko, who stated that Isaiah Horton adds "another dimension" to Texas A&M's offense, losing out on Auburn transfer WR Cam Coleman was never detrimental, knowing that the Aggies' wide receiver corps is a complete unit with the most depth in the SEC, even after losing Jerome Myles.
