Texas favored over Ohio State in revenge rematch for Week 2 of college football

Texas football is currently valued in the slightest of favor to win their Week 2 game versus Ohio State.

Per DraftKings, in matchup with an estimated point total of 47.5, Texas is favored by 1.5 points next weekend.

That’s welcomed news as the Longhorns prepare to host the Buckeyes in the programs’ second act of a home-and-home series that saw Texas drop its season-opening game versus Ohio State in Columbus. Last season, Ohio State beat Texas 14-7, and held the Longhorns scoreless through three quarters. Both teams enter this season ranked in the top 5 with high expectations.

This year, both programs opened the 2026 college football season with a win: Texas stomped a 59-7 hole in their Interstate-35 neighbor Texas State as returning starter quarterback Arch Manning, now a fourth-year senior, threw for over 300 yards, four touchdowns, and one lone interception. Meanwhile, Ohio State beat Ball State to a pulp that amounted to a 56-3 win on Saturday that saw standout wide receiver Jeremiah Smith grab eight receptions for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Texas hasn’t beat Ohio State in football since the 2008 Fiesta Bowl.
