While all eyes are on Week 1 of the college football season, it appears one player on the Texas Longhorns already has his sights on the program’s Week 2 matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes. On Thursday, a transfer linebacker delivered a stern message to the Buckeyes, as he has that matchup marked on his calendar.

Rasheem Biles, who joined Texas through the transfer portal this offseason, called out Ohio State for not recruiting him out of high school despite growing up in the state, according to CJ Vogel of On Texas Football. He claimed the Buckeyes attempted to sign him through the transfer portal this year, but he chose Texas instead. Biles seems to have a chip on his shoulder and can’t wait to play against Ohio State in Week 2.

“I ain’t really trying to be in Columbus,” Biles said. “I ain’t trying to be a Buckeye. Like, they didn’t want me out of high school, and I was right there, so ain’t no point in trying to get me now.”

Biles will be a senior this coming season with Texas. He played his first three years of college football with the Pittsburgh Panthers, serving as a go-to starter for two. In his two years as a starter, Biles proved to be a reliable tackler while having a knack for generating turnovers.

He enters the 2026-27 campaign with 185 combined tackles (86 solo), 10.0 sacks, three interceptions that have all been returned for touchdowns, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Rasheem Biles led the nation in interceptions returned for touchdowns last season with two.
