Yesterday was the last Saturday without Texas football until December. That doesn’t mean there was nothing for Longhorn fans to tune into. Four former Longhorns strapped it up for a new team, but this is about a current Longhorns’ family. Trent Mosley, the younger brother of Texas WR Emmett Mosley V, shined in his collegiate debut for USC, reeling in 7 catches for 118 yards and a score.

Trent was a four-star recruit, checking in as the No. 34 WR in the country in the 2026 class, rated above where his older brother was. Like his brother, he stayed in California for his college career, joining the Trojans.

Continuing the similarities, when Emmett played San Jose State at Stanford, he notched 7 catches for over 100 yards and a score. Trent was able to out-do his older brother by 17 yards, getting bragging rights at Thanksgiving.

The Trojans were missing two WRs for this first game, giving Mosley an opening for more targets. He took it and, almost assuredly, earned himself a feature role moving forward this season. Although it won’t be for the Longhorns, Texas fans can enjoy Emmett’s younger brother shining in Los Angeles this season. For now, Longhorn Nation can hope strong opening week performances run in the family.
