Since it first started broadcasting live from college campuses in 1993, ESPN’s “College GameDay” has become known more for the pageantry that surrounds it than any college football analysis the popular pregame show provides.
There are the thousands of fans gathered behind the set. There are the fight songs, the cheerleaders and all the pomp and circumstance that comes with a high-level college football Saturday.
Most of all, though, there are the signs.
The dozens of signs that populate the “GameDay” backdrop every week help give the show some of its metaphorical and literal color, with fans showing their creativity to support their team or insult their rival (or just express their religious beliefs).
For Lane Kiffin’s return to Oxford, Mississippi for Saturday’s matchup between No. 7 LSU and No. 9 Mississippi, the most highly anticipated game of the 2026 college football regular season, those signs will go from an entertaining wrinkle to the “GameDay” broadcast to must-see TV. More than nine months after Kiffin left the Rebels for the rival Tigers, fans from across the state (and beyond it) who have had feelings of scorn and betrayal roiling inside of them will get to let it out and let millions of people across the country know how they truly feel about their former coach.
As kickoff for Saturday night’s game at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium looms, here’s a rundown of some of the best signs from the Week 3 visit to Oxford from “GameDay”:
