Let’s get to it.
The Obligatory Bet Against UNC Of The Week
I’m rooting for Bill Belichick all of the time, and my friends, it sure looks like he’s doing enough to get at least one more year. I wasn’t sure this would happen, but the coast is increasingly clear after an unwatchable win against Pitt and its second-string quarterback. Duke -3 is free money this week though.
Around The Country
ECU -4.5 vs. UAB (UAB 30-17): You know something, it’s not every day that a team manages to lose an overtime game by double-digits. ECU even led this game 14-3 in the first half before proceeding to just throw up for the next three hours straight, and I respect that. I respect the entire body of work here.
Ohio State -3 vs. Indiana: Once upon a time, Indiana beating Ohio State would have required a miracle involving a half dozen turnovers and Antwaan Randle El morphing into Cam Newton, and still only about 20,000 people would have seen it. Who knew that some day we’d all be wondering if an elite Ohio State team had enough to beat Indiana in football.
Northwestern -7 vs. Michigan State: Speaking of things you would not have guessed 20 years ago, Northwestern is not only good at football, but Michigan State apparently doesn’t seem to care about football.
Kentucky vs. Oklahoma O43.5: I would never recommend watching an Oklahoma game, just betting on it. Definitely do not put this game on the TV. The TV is sacred.
New Mexico -14.5 vs. Hawaii: New Mexico having a top-50 team somehow is one the best stories of this season, and it’s such a baffling development if you’ve ever been to Albuquerque, which is not a fun place to live. There will always be these stories, even in spite of the money, and that’s comforting.
