Oklahoma State's Week 2 upset of No. 6 Oregon didn't come without some loss.
Following the Cowboys' 39-31 victory over Dan Lanning's Ducks – a team that last year whipped them in Eugene, 69-3 – Oklahoma State is now in need of new goalposts. Overjoyed fans, ecstatic at the first major win of the Eric Morris era, tore the goalposts down and, not satisfied with merely doing so, transported it to nearby Theta Pond.
It's a 14-minute walk from Boone Pickens Stadium to the pond, though it almost certainly took longer with the crowd and, you know, the facts fans were carrying a giant piece of football equipment.
It seems as though the Oklahoma State administration is willing not only to tolerate the destruction of property, but also to join in on the fun. University president Jim Hess joked after the game that it was a good thing he had already bought a new goalpost in advance of the contest.

Oklahoma State athletics was similarly sympathetic to students' relocation of the goalposts.
Indeed, the Cowboys are officially on the record saying they don't condone their removal. However, they also chronicled their journey from the stadium to Theta Pond. For posterity.

The Cowboys have a week to install the new posts before hosting Murray State on Sept. 19. Perhaps Oklahoma State won't feel the need to do more redecorating should they beat the Racers.
