Notre Dame football has seen a massive boost in its recruiting efforts since Marcus Freeman took over the program, and one of the biggest differences has been with the quarterbacks committed.

The biggest name has been CJ Carr, who will enter his second season starting this fall, as the Irish have also added Blake Hebert, Noah Grubbs and Teddy Jarrard in recent cycles. In the 2027 class, Notre Dame has a verbal from Wonderful “Champ” Monds, and now they’ve set their focus to the 2028 group.

One of the top quarterbacks in that class, Neimann Lawrence, a 6-foot, 1-inch and 200-pounder from Florida is a big target. The nation’s No. 53 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite announced on Wednesday that he will make his commitment on June 25th, picking from the Irish, Miami, Texas, Michigan and Texas A&M.

It’s an early verbal from that cycle, but an important one for Notre Dame. If they are able to lock up Lawrence, they could build the rest of the class around him. The hop is that he picks the Irish later this month, in what would be a massive recruiting win.
