If there was a statement recruiting victory of the 2027 recruiting class, the Washington Huskies may have just pulled it off by beating out Ohio State and Miami for four-star wide receiver Tre Moore.

At 6-foot-3 and 200 pounds the Pflugerville (Texas) Weiss junior is ready-made for the Big Ten Conference. Moore, the No. 160 overall ranked prospect in this year’s class and No. 21 receiver—by the 247Sports Composite rankings—is the second-highest rated commit for the Huskies and has the production to match.

Moore finished the 2025 season with 1,443 receiving yards and 19 touchdown receptions along with 85 catches in 13 games for Pflugerville Weiss, which put him among the top 20 in yards among Texas high school receivers.

After signing four-star Madison High School (San Antonio, Texas) standout Jordan Clay in the 2026 class, wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings and head coach Jedd Fisch now have two premier Lone Star State products to build the offense around for years to come.

However, securing Moore’s commitment over the Buckeyes and Hurricanes signals more than just a significant add in the 2027 class. Moore had scheduled his official visit to Seattle for June 19-20, after trips to both programs, which were both featured in the College Football Playoff last year, where Fisch is building his program back to.

No matter who is at quarterback in 2027, be it Demond Williams Jr. returning for his senior season or one of the assortment of current and former predominantly four-star prospects; Blake Roskopf, Derek Zammit, Elijah Brown, Treston McMillan and Dash Beierly, somebody is going to have a plethora of NFL-caliber talent to throw to for the next three to four years.

Moore joins fellow four-star’s Zerek Sidney from Desert Ridge High School (Goodyear, Arizona) and Braylon Pope out of Sumner High School (Sumner, Washington) in the 2027 class, with the potential for a fourth four-star pass catcher to join the class before all is said and done.

UW will lose senior Christian Moss, a transfer from Kennesaw State this past offseason, and potentially junior Rashid Williams after this coming season, which leaves another void for the young crop of incoming talent to fill for the staff with Moore leading the group set to sign in December.
