The Virginia Tech Hokies have the quarterback of their 2027 recruiting class, landing four-star Peter Bourque on Thursday. He was the top uncommitted quarterback in the country and picked them over the Georgia Bulldogs.

He is ranked as the No. 82 overall player and No. 7 quarterback in the 247Sports composite. The Marion native is also the No. 1 player from Massachusetts and is the leader of James Franklin's first recruiting cycle as Virginia Tech's head coach.

Bourque was previously committed to the Michigan Wolverines, but reopened his recruitment after they fired Sherrone Moore. The Hokies immediately became one of his top schools, with several members of their coaching staff having recruited him while at Penn State. They got him on campus on April 18, his final visit before he committed.

He had an excellent junior season at Tabor Academy, being named the Gatorade Player of the Year in Massachusetts. He completed 63.3 % of his passes for 2,241 yards and 18 touchdowns in nine games. He also ran for 688 yards and 15 more touchdowns.

He is the 11th recruit that Virginia Tech has landed and the fourth four-star prospect. The group is ranked as the 17th best class in the country and the 3rd best in the ACC by 247Sports.
