The crop of quarterbacks leading the way in the 2027 recruiting cycle is exciting. Passers from all over the country are featured throughout the top of the updated Rivals300 rankings as their senior seasons get underway.

In total, there are 19 QB prospects featured in the latest Rivals300. That includes seven top-100 recruits and a pair of five-stars, though a couple more are line to eventually receive their fifth star once 32 are handed out later this fall.

All 19 of those signal-callers are already committed and they have been for some time. Each of the Power Four conferences have landed three or more of those 19 commitments: SEC (6), Big Ten (5), ACC (4), Big 12 (3).

Below is a look at the top 10 quarterback prospects in the 2027 Rivals300, as of August 31, along with a glance at how their final high school season has started, now that most teams have logged at least one game.

1. Will Mencl — Oregon

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 13 NATL.
School:Chandler (Ariz.)
Committed Since: April 22

Chandler opened its season on ESPN in a major in-state tilt vs. Basha on Saturday night. The Wolves lost 37-26. Mencl was challenged at times and finished 27-for-47 with 334 yards and four touchdowns. He threw a pair of interceptions in the defeat. As a junior, Mencl threw for 3,815 yards and 33 TDs while also running for 17 more scores.

2. Trae Taylor — Nebraska

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 16 NATL.
School:Millard South (Neb.)
Committed Since: May 1, 2025

Taylor announced back in January that he was transferring from Carmel Catholic (Ill.) to Millard South for his senior season, providing the defending state champs with another five-star QB. The Patriots are the No. 1 team in Nebraska and they were tested in a big way on Friday night, fending off rivals Millard North for a 35-34 win. Taylor was dynamic, completing 16 of 31 passes for 344 yards and three touchdowns to go with 24 rushes for 94 yards and another TD.

3. Jake Nawrot — Kentucky

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 29 NATL.
School:John Hersey (Ill.)
Committed Since: April 12

John Hersey is now the No. 19 team in Illinois, per the Rivals Composite Rankings. The Huskies are off to a 2-0 start, having scored 80 points. Nawrot has already compiled 546 total yards and eight touchdowns after adding four in a 42-6 win at Hoffman Estates last week. He led the state of Illinois with 41 TD passes as a junior and will be tough to surpass this fall.

4. Israel Abrams — Miami

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 44 NATL.
School:Montini Catholic (Ill.)
Committed Since: April 3

Abrams hasn’t tasted defeat too often in his high school career, but on Friday night, Montini Catholic’s 25-game winning streak was snapped in a 35-28 loss at Carl Sandburg. The 6-foot-4.5, 190-pounder threw for 233 yards and finished with three touchdowns, but the Broncos, now 1-1 this season, faced an early deficit and couldn’t complete the comeback. The back-to-back state champs hadn’t lost since Sept. 20, 2024.

5. Keegan Croucher — Ole Miss

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 48 NATL.
School:Baylor School (Tenn.)
Committed Since: Oct. 5, 2025

Croucher transferred to Baylor from Cheshire Academy (Conn.) for his senior season. Now leading one of the most high-profile offenses in all of high school football, he and the Red Raiders are 2-0 after a rolling Loudoun Sports Academy (Va.) 37-12 on Friday. Croucher finished 20-for-28 with 313 passing yards and three touchdowns in the win.

6. Elijah Haven — Alabama

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 94 NATL.
School:Dunham School (La.)
Committed Since: April 25

Louisiana’s regular season will finally get underway this week. Dunham School begins the year as the No. 30 team in The Boot, per the Rivals Composite Rankings. Haven is coming off a monster junior season that included nearly 3,391 passing yards and 62 touchdowns, as well as 794 rushing yards and 11 scores on the ground. The 6-foot-4.5, 220-pounder was the 2025 Gatorade Louisiana Football Player of the Year.

7. Kavian Bryant — Texas Tech

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 97 NATL.
School:Westwood (Texas)
Committed Since: Nov. 1, 2025

It was a season-opener to forget for Westwood on Friday as Jefferson came to town and left with a 48-21 victory. Bryant’s best moment of the night was connecting with his brother, Kaden, on a deep ball for a 51-yard score. The dual-threat star missed a drive in the first half after picking up a knock and also left the game in the second half after taking a big hit.

8. Blake Roskopf — Washington

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 101 NATL.
School:Desert Edge (Ariz.)
Committed Since: April 7

Desert Edge’s defense blanked Cactus Shadows as the Scorpions began their season with a 20-0 road win on Thursday night. Roskopf was impressive in the victory, completing 24 of 34 passes for 416 yards and three touchdowns to just one interception. Checking in at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, Roskopf reminds Rivals’ Scouting and Rankings Team of Super Bowl winner Nick Foles.

9. Peter Bourque — Virginia Tech

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 107 NATL.
School:Tabor Academy (Mass.)
Committed Since: May 14

Tabor Academy won’t take the field until Sept. 12, but all eyes will be on the Seawolves thanks to Bourque, the 2025 Gatorade Massachusetts Football Player of the Year. Leading his team to an undefeated season and NEPSAC title last year, he threw for 2,241 yards, had 18 touchdowns through the air and 15 more on the feet. Tabor is the preseason No. 1 team in the state, per the Rivals Composite Rankings.

10. Peyton Houston — LSU

Rivals300 Ranking: No. 110 NATL.
School:Evangel Christian Academy (La.)
Committed Since: Sept. 15, 2025

Houston and Co. will begin their regular season this Friday at River Oaks. Still, the 5-foot-10 gunslinger has already racked up a couple of highlights in preseason action. He’s coming off a big junior year that saw him complete 66 percent of his passes for 3,836 yards and 42 touchdowns to go with 942 rushing yards and 12 scores. Evangel Christian Academy is the preseason No. 19 team in Louisiana.
