Transfer portal updates: Where every former Aggie landed

The transfer portal window is officially closed for every program except Miami and Indiana, who remain active due to their appearance in the national title game. In total, 3,972 FBS players entered the portal during this cycle—a staggering figure that now routinely overshadows both National Signing Day and the early signing period.

And while the portal offers players the same flexibility coaches enjoy, it doesn’t guarantee a soft landing. When the window shut on Jan. 16, 1,619 FBS players were still searching for a new home, roughly 40% of those who entered.

Fortunately for the 11 Texas A&M players who tested the waters, each found a destination relatively quickly.

Only one of the 11 landed outside the Power Four, a notable outcome given the current climate of roster churn and limited available spots. More importantly, every departing Aggie secured a fresh opportunity, leaving Mike Elko and his staff to spend the offseason identifying who will rise to fill the depth and rotational roles vacated by these exits.

Below is a full breakdown of where each former Aggie committed.

Tristan Jernigan – Linebacker – Cal

  • Classification: Sophomore
  • 2025 stats: 14 tackles, 3 TFL

Jordan Pride – Safety – Southern Miss

  • Classification: RS-Freshman
  • 2025 stats: 1 tackle

Jayvon Thomas — Cornerback – SMU

  • Classification: Junior
  • 2025 stats: 33 tackles, 1 interception

Rylan Kennedy – Defensive End – Florida State

  • Classification: Redshirt Sophomore
  • 2025 stats: 14 tackles, 3.5 TFL, 2.0 sacks, 1 pass defended, 1 QB hit

Solomon Williams – Defensive End – Cal

  • Classification: Redshirt Freshman
  • 2025 stats: 7 tackles, 3.0 TFL

Theo Melin Ohrstrom – Tight End – SMU

  • Classification: Redshirt Junior
  • 2025 stats: 19 receptions, 168 yards, 1 touchdown

Miles O’Neill – Quarterback – North Carolina

  • Classification: Redshirt Freshman
  • 2025 stats: 7/14, 120 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions

Izaiah Williams – Wide Receiver – Kansas State

  • Classification: Redshirt Freshman
  • 2025 stats: 7 receptions, 64 yards, 1 touchdown

Cobey Sellers – Cornerback – Vanderbilt

  • Classification: Freshman
  • 2025 stats: N/A

Dealyn Evans – Defensive Line – Mississippi State

  • Classification: Freshman
  • 2025 stats: 8 tackles

Jonte Newman – Offensive Line – Texas
