The 2026 season looms large for LSU football in more ways than one. It's Lane Kiffin's inaugural season at the helm and he put together a team largely made up of newcomers. But he also must manage creating a constructive environment for recruits, keeping his 2027 class together while also impressing future cycles.

Two of LSU's 2027 recruits committed to contributing to that environment this season. Braylon Calais and Peyton Houston plan to attend every home football game and assist the Tigers' staff with recruits, according to a report by 247Sports.

Both Louisiana natives, Houston and Calais represent success on the high school recruiting trail. Every head coach who came through LSU prioritized keeping the state's best talent at home. The pair makes up two of seven in-state recruits who chose LSU in the 2027 class.

The importance of Houston, a four-star quarterback, being a part of the game day experience is integral. Having an elite quarterback committed to the program and selling it to recruits makes a difference, as it screams stability and a commitment to development to high schoolers.
