Two Texas A&M 2027 commits ranked Top 10 in Rivals300 WR rankings

This week, several of Texas A&M’s commitments in the Aggies’ No. 1-ranked 2027 recruiting class steadily rose in the annual Rivals300 Rankings, with five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews now the No. 2-ranked prospect in the class, followed by five-star safety Kamarui Dorsey, who rose to No. 19 overall.

Entering the top 300, four-star linebacker Aston Whiteside came in at No. 253, and newly minted four-star athlete Errol Kerns, who flipped his commitment from Miami (OH) to Texas A&M after taking his official visit with the Aggies this summer, came in at No. 253. Given their underrated status, it’s clear that coach Mike Elko isn’t focused only on landing the highest-rated recruits, but the players who fit his system, culture, and possess NFL potential.

On offense, four-star quarterback Jayce Johnson is in line to be the next starting quarterback if he continues to develop as a pocket passer, while one of the Aggies’ recent commits, five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland (No. 58) who joins four-star wideout Jayden Upshaw (No. 62) are now the ninth and tenth ranked wide receivers in the top 300.

Oregon, which holds commitments from five-star Dakota Guerrant and four-star Xavier Sabb, is the only other program with two wide receiver commits in the latest rankings update.

Combined with three-star wide receivers Damani Warren and Trey Haddad, Texas A&M’s future rotation is built on speed, size, and physicality, which is as good as it gets for former wide receiver coach turned OC Holmon Wiggins.
