Urban Meyer loves what he sees in Notre Dame this season

Notre Dame football isn’t just a great program for players, it’s a great one for coaches as well. When looking at the coaching tree, you see names like Texas A&M’s Mike Elko and Vanderbilt’s Clark Lea.

Current head coach Marcus Freeman came up on it as well, and if you look back a bit further, you’ll find three-time national champion Urban Meyer. Two with the Florida Gators and one with Ohio State, he’s one of the greatest coaches of all-time and is now an analyst for Fox Sports.

Recently Meyer was asked about the Irish, and it was extremely high praise. As The Irish Tribune shared on social media, he said “this is the best version of Notre Dame in my lifetime.” This includes the national championship team in 1988, and just two years ago when Notre Dame made a run to the College Football Playoff title game.

Meyer also mentioned a huge difference in the school investing in the program, as the facilities have only gotten better, and new renovations are happening all the time. Hopefully this version of Notre Dame is the one that breaks the championship drought.
