Three-star 2027 linebacker recruit Cain Brackney flipped his commitment from the UCLA Bruins to the reigning National Champion Indiana Hoosiers on Monday, according to Hayes Fawcett of Rivals.
Brackney had committed to UCLA back on April 24 before he officially visited the Bruins or Hoosiers. The Bixby, Okla. native visited UCLA, Indiana and Michigan before deciding to decommit from the Bruins and joining Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers for their 2027 campaign.

“Me and the family want to get all the information we can because I did commit a little early,” Brackney said at the time, according to Bruin247’s article. “We just want to experience everything and take a little bit more time seeing these two schools and kind of go from there.”
Brackney played 11 games for Cherry Creek in Colo. as a sophomore in 2024 with 57 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and a forced fumble. In 2025, he went to the Tulsa Union in Oklahoma for his junior year and over 12 games he racked up 102 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a 68-yard pick six, according to 247Sports.
The decision leaves UCLA with just two linebacker commits in the 2027 recruiting class: three-star commit from California, Mike Davis Jr. and four-star New Mexico commit, Colton McKibben.
