UH QB Alejado on Walter Camp watch list

The Walter Camp Football Foundation on Monday named University of Hawaii quarterback Micah Alejado to the preseason watch list for its 2026 Player of the Year award.
The sophomore was one of 50 players named to the Walter Camp award watch list. Twenty-two of those named Monday are signal-callers, with 19 more coming from the offensive side of the ball and nine from defense. In all, 38 schools are represented on the list.
Alejado is also on the preseason watch list for the 90th Maxwell Award, and last month hewas named the Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year.
Last season, Alejado completed 285 of 430 passes (66.3%)for 3,106 yards and 24 touchdowns with nine interceptions in 11 games, including a Hawaii Bowl win over Cal of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Jayden Maiava of USC, who prepped at Kaimuki, is also on the list.
Ten semifinalists for the Camp will be announced in early November, and three finalists named in early December. The winner will be announced soon after.
