Walsh Jesuit vs St. Ignatius high school football score, live updates

Walsh Jesuit hosts Cleveland St. Ignatius at Conway Memorial Stadium on Friday, Sept. 11, in a Week 4 high school football game.

Kickoff for the matchup between the Warriors and Wildcats is at 7 p.m.

Walsh Jesuit has a 3-0 record this season and St. Ignatius is 2-1.

What to know about St. Ignatius football

St. Ignatius is 7-6 in the series, but lost 42-7 to Walsh Jesuit two seasons ago and 30-0 last season.

The Wildcats are third in Division I, Region 1.

St. Ignatius lost 22-21 to two-time reigning state champion Avon on a two-point conversion to open the season and then beat Pickerington North 24-21 and Mentor 51-7. The Wildcats are led by quarterback Jacob Mikin, who has proved to be very serviceable under first-year coach Tom Kaufman. His weapons at wide receiver include Texas A&M commit Trey Haddad, Billy Cole and Jake Lamirand.

The defense is led by linebacker James Conrad, a Buffalo commit who has been used in a multitude of ways.

What to know about Walsh Jesuit football

Walsh Jesuit is first in Division II, Region 5 under coach Nick Alexander. The Warriors have wins over 2025 regional finalist Highland (34-0) in Week 1 and 2025 state runner-up Toledo Central Catholic (38-25) in Week 3 on the field this season. They also have a forfeit win over Clark County Springfield in Week 2.

Walsh wide receiver Cambell Lann is expected to be back after missing the Toledo Central Catholic game. Quarterback David Ternosky had a big Week 3 game, going 19-for-30 passing for 318 yards and a touchdown. Cayden LeVert and Sam Barrett are standout receivers for Walsh. LeVert had three receptions for 94 yards against Highland in Week 1 and Sam Barrett totaled seven catches for 115 yards and a TD against TCC in Week 3.

Warriors running back Dom Courtad has 39 carries for 220 yards and three TDs this season. Mason Rodgers totaled 11 carrie for 89 yards and a TD against Highland.

Walsh's Caleb Buckner had two sacks last week against TCC and Emmit Tobin had two sacks in Week 1 versus Highland.

Walsh Jesuit impact players 

If you thought Ternosky to Milan Parris was special, Ternosky to Lann might be just as good. Lann is just an inch shorter than the 6-foot-5 Parris, who is now playing at Miami, and he's got hops. … The Western Michigan commit caught 29 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns last season, and those numbers will skyrocket this season. … Ternosky (117-for-186 passing, 1,466 yards, 19 TDs) should have plenty of time in the pocket this season with University of Akron commit Owen Pelkowski back at tackle. The Warriors gained 369.2 yards per game last season and will have a balanced attack once again. … Although Walsh took a hit defensively, it returns end Dario Jeras, one of its best linemen.

What's new with Walsh Jesuit football in 2026 

Freshmen twins Calvin and Cameron Brunson are two players to watch. Calvin is a 6-3, 310-pound offensive tackle. Cameron is a 6-foot, 165-pound wide receiver. Both impressed at Walsh's high school showcase on May 20 and picked up offers from Miami (Ohio) and Kent State before ever suiting up for a varsity game. … Dom Courtad will take over at running back for Marty Tobin and Carlos Smith, who rushed for a combined 2,418 yards and 26 touchdowns. … "Dom played every snap at running back and linebacker on JV last year," Alexander said. "He never left the field. He's a really strong, physical running back. He's not the Marty Tobin that is going to run by you. He's going to look for contact. He's a bruiser, a really heady football player and good leader, too."

Walsh Jesuit football’s outlook 

Sure, there are some holes to fill with Parris gone at wideout and Tobin and Smith gone at running back, but the Warriors are primed to make another deep playoff run. They've played in a Division II, Region 5 final three years in a row. Last season, they broke through and reached a state semifinal for the first time since 1999 when they beat Hoban 35-7. … Walsh dropped that state final four game 38-7 to two-time reigning state champion Avon, but big strides were made in getting to the round of four. Expect Ternosky to use that experience to his advantage this season. … Also on their side is the fact they open and close their nine-game schedule on the road with seven consecutive home games in between. … "David has had an extra season the last two years with our playoff run," Alexander said. "With four [games] the year before and five last year, he's had an extra year of practice. He understands the offense inside and out. The experience in making that run, every game David will have the confidence in knowing he's been there before. No game will be too big for him."
