Washington Football Draws Primetime Kickoff Slot Vs. USC

The Washington Huskies will have a prime television slot for their first Big Ten road game of the season against No. 12 USC next Saturday.

The Huskies (3-0, 0-0) and Trojans will face off on NBC at the LA Memorial Coliseum at 4:30 p.m. Pacific, as announced Monday morning. After UW drew massive viewership for the season opener against Washington State on NBC, third-year coach Jedd Fisch has another optimal opportunity to make a national statement against coach Lincoln Riley's Trojans.

USC (4-0, 1-0) hosts No. 20 Oregon (2-1, 0-0) this weekend while UW hosts unbeaten Minnesota to open Big Ten play with the first 4-0 start since 2023 on the line. A win over coach P.J. Fleck's Golden Gophers on Saturday and a USC victory over coach Dan Lanning's Ducks would set up the first top 25 matchup of Fisch's tenure in Seattle.

The last time the Huskies and Trojans met in 2024 at Husky Stadium was a 26-21 win for UW that featured a late fourth-quarter touchdown from Will Rogers to Keith Reynolds to come back after USC took a 21-20 lead in the third quarter; the two schools also coincidentally kicked off at 4:30 p.m., though the game aired on the Big Ten Network.

Then-No. 5 UW beat No. 20 USC 52-42 the previous year under Kalen DeBoer in Riley's second year in Los Angeles, the second consecutive victory for the Huskies at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum following a 17-12 win over the Trojans in 2015. The last time the Huskies fell to their former Pac-12 Conference foe came in 2011, a 40-17 defeat for Steve Sarkisian at the hands of then-USC coach Lane Kiffin.

Historically, the Trojans hold the all-time series record with a 52-31-4 record against the Huskies. Washington has only won four or more consecutive games against USC once, when the program came away with five straight wins from 1934-38.

USC won the previous six meetings before that stretch from 1927-33. Since then, the Trojans have had streaks of 10 straight wins (1965-74) and seven consecutive victories (2002-08).
