Washington football eyeing talented two-way in-state 2028 ATH

The Washington Huskies have done an impressive job with in-state recruiting under Jedd Fisch, and the head coach is looking to see that trend continue in the 2028 class.

One prospect who could become a major target for Fisch's coaching staff is three-star athlete Jayce Halasz, a product of Graham Kapowsin High School. Listed at 6-foot-2 and 175 pounds, he's ranked as the No. 267 overall prospect and No. 10 athlete in the country by Rivals and has quickly accrued interest from all over the country.

Halasz holds 14 offers, with Alabama, California, Oregon, USC, and Wisconsin all in the mix for his services alongside the Huskies following a breakout sophomore year.

On offense, he pulled in 64 catches for 1,023 yards and 12 touchdowns, while he added 30 tackles with 7 pass breakups and an interception on the defensive side. With some programs looking at him as a wide receiver, while others value him in the secondary, Halasz doesn't seem to have much of a preference for his position at the college level.

“I’m a big believer in just playing wherever they need me,” Halasz told the Tacoma News Tribune's Jon Manley. “Trying to get the win wherever I’m most valuable at. Definitely, I’ve been playing receiver a lot growing up, but I love to hit, man. I love changing the atmosphere in the arena.”

While Alabama has made a significant push early for the talented athlete, the Huskies have had a lot of success recruiting both at receiver and in the secondary during Fisch's tenure, and Halasz should quickly emerge as a priority target for Washington's 2028 class.
