During the 118th edition of the Apple Cup, the Washington Huskies welcomed a contingent of recruits from Arizona powerhouse Desert Edge High School to campus for unofficial visits as they overcame the Washington State Cougars in a 24-10 game.
Along with four-star quarterback Blake Roskopf and three-star wide receiver Zerek Sidney, who are both committed to Jedd Fisch's 2027 class, were five-star 2028 edge rusher Jalanie George—who holds a pair of predictions from Rivals' Brandon Huffman and Steve Wiltfong to commit to Washington—and four-star 2028 cornerback Nekhi Lambeth.
Lambeth, who is listed at 6-foot and 175 pounds, holds nearly 30 offers from around the country, with Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M, among others, in pursuit of his services. After secondary coach John Richardson and the Huskiesextended an offer to the coveted defensive back in early May, it hasn't taken long for Jedd Fisch's coaching staff to build a strong relationship with him.
Getting the No. 117 overall prospect and No. 12 cornerback on campus is a significant step in Washington's pursuit of his commitment, and as the Huskies continue to build a pipeline to Desert Edge, they could prove to be major players in his recruitment.
On film, Lambeth displays good physicality at the line of scrimmage and excels at flipping his hips to run with receivers downfield, displaying the athleticism to stay stuck to his matchup's hip throughout the route, all traits that Preseason True Freshman All-American Jeron Jones showed off throughout fall camp ahead of his first year on Montlake.
As the Huskies continue their push to add high-end talent from Arizona, Lambeth looks like he could be one of Washington's top priorities in the secondary in the 2028 class.
