As Jedd Fisch looks to establish the Washington Huskies as a program with a national recruiting footprint in the 2028 class, one state that his coaching staff has yet to make an impact in is Georgia, but that could change as UW pursues several promising defensive linemen.

Among those trench targets is three-star defensive tackle Tory Clark, a 6-foot-4, 275-pound product of Woodward Academy in Atlanta, who is ranked as the No. 394 overall prospect and No. 40 defensive lineman by the 247Sports Composite.

Clark boasts 26 offers, with Florida, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, North Carolina, Oregon, and Tennessee all among the programs in pursuit of his services, but the Huskies have built a strong relationship with the promising pass rusher since director of recruiting Marcus Griffin took a trip to the Peach State in mid-May to extend him an offer.

The bond Fisch's staff has built with Clark is strong enough that he will reportedly be in attendance for Washington's season opener against the Washington State Cougars for the Apple Cup.

On film, Clark is a disruptive force in the middle of the defensive front, with great power, a high-end motor, and several pass rush moves to combat opposing offensive linemen. Combined with a strong base that holds up well against the run, he has all the traits of an early contributor at the college level.

Pulling a player of Clark's caliber out of the South won't be easy, but as the Huskies continue to gain their footing in the Big Ten, these are the types of recruiting battles that Fisch's coaching staff is looking to win in the near future, even as coach Kirby Smart and the in-state Bulldogs begin a push after offering him in mid-June.
