When the Washington Huskies take on the Washington State Cougars in the Apple Cup on Sunday, September 6, four five-star recruits in the 2028 class will be in attendance.

Among that group is wide receiver DeAndre Bidden, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound product of Harper Woods High School in Michigan, who is ranked as the No. 30 overall prospect and No. 7 player at his position by the 247Sports Composite.

Bidden, who compiled 853 yards and 14 touchdowns on 54 touches during his sophomore season, has become one of the most sought-after pass catchers in the country. He holds 30 offers, with Alabama, Indiana, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Oregon all among the programs in pursuit of his services.

The promising pass catcher, who plays with great speed and shows off impressive agility and contact balance in short areas, has yet to report an offer from Jedd Fisch's coaching staff, but with his presence for the in-state rivalry game, wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings may have an opportunity to extend a scholarship to Bidden in person.

"Play speed in pads is backed up by a 10.85 personal best in the 100m dash," 247Sports' Hudson Standish wrote in Bidden's evaluation. "Attacks leverage with his acceleration and can stack defensive backs working vertically…Appears to be a scheme-versatile receiver who can work outside or in the slot…Consistent ball-winner in contested catch scenarios who will out-muscle defenders in addition to running past them."

With four receivers committed in the 2027 class, Fisch and Cummings have the ability to aim high in 2028, and Bidden could quickly emerge as a priority target at the position.
