We've made it! After a long offseason, Texas A&M will kick off the 2026 season against Missouri State on Saturday night, and after leading the Aggies to the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history last season, third-year coach Mike Elko and his revamped roster will face one of the toughest conference schedules as the new nine-game SEC slate begins this fall.

While defense wins championships, above-average quarterback play is critical for any team to legitimately compete for a spot in the CFP, and after throwing for a career-high 3,169 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, redshirt junior Marcel Reed is back for his second full starting season and is coming off his best preseason yet.

Reed will be throwing to one of the deepest wide receiver rooms in the country, and before a record 10 players were selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, Mike Elko and his staff landed 17 transfer additions who will replace several key starters on both sides of the ball, including former Northwestern Edge Anto Saka and Alabama transfer wide receiver Isaiah Horton.

However, four new starting offensive linemen will be one of the early areas of focus, but given the depth at guard and tackle, Elko and O-line coach Adam Cushing are confident they will determine the final starting five in the coming weeks.

Less than 12 hours before Texas A&M faces Missouri State on Saturday night, the Aggies' talented media team released its first pre-game hype video, which you can view below. Texas A&M will host Missouri State on Saturday night at 6 p.m., and the game will air on ESPN.
