LSU football opens its season vs. Clemson for the second straight year on Saturday night. In 2025, LSU went to Clemson and got the best of Dabo Swinney's squad in a defensive battle.

LSU and Clemson have met a handful of times over the years. When LSU won the national title in 2019, it was Clemson coming out on the wrong side of the game.

LSU leads the all-time series 4-1. Clemson's only win vs. LSU came in the 2012 Peach Bowl, as Swinney was first building Clemson into a powerhouse. That served as a statement win for the Clemson program.

They first met in 1958, when LSU beat Clemson 7-0 in the Sugar Bowl. After that, the sides didn't meet again until 1996, when LSU beat Clemson in the Peach Bowl.

LSU's 17-point win in the 2019 national title game was the largest margin of victory in the series. Usually, when these programs meet, it's close.

LSU's Week 1 game vs. Clemson is set for Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. CT. ABC will broadcast the game.
