The march toward a potential 2026 national title is already taking shape in College Station, with Texas A&M deep into spring football and fully embracing the next phase of Mike Elko’s program build. Spring ball is always the first major checkpoint of the offseason, but another key milestone looms on the summer calendar. SEC Media Days. For the Aggies, it’s an annual opportunity to showcase the identity, confidence, and direction of the program under Elko’s leadership.

This year’s event carries added significance. The 2026 SEC Media Days are headed to “The Sunshine State” for the first time in conference history, setting up a weeklong football blitz in Tampa, Florida. From July 20–23, the league will take over the Tampa Marriott Water Street and JW Marriott, bringing together every SEC head coach to preview the upcoming season and outline their vision for the fall.

Texas A&M will take center stage on Wednesday, July 22, when Mike Elko steps to the podium alongside Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer, Florida’s Jon Sumrall, and Ole Miss head coach Pete Golding. For Elko, it’s another chance to reinforce the culture shift that powered the Aggies to their first-ever College Football Playoff appearance and double‑digit wins in 2025. His message discipline, development, and a relentless standard continues to resonate throughout Aggieland.

As the Aggies push through spring and look ahead to Tampa, one thing is clear. Under Mike Elko, Texas A&M isn’t just participating in SEC Media Days. They’re arriving as a program with expectations, momentum, and a growing national presence.
