Things have slowed down on the recruiting calendar as coaches focus on the upcoming season. There will still be dozens of unofficial visits throughout the season, but until National Signing Day in December, the ever-changing team recruiting rankings have stabilized for now. After a flurry of commitments in June and some big names since, Texas heads into the football season No. 6 in Rivals/On3's team rankings.

Texas added 11 commitments from the 2027 recruiting class in June, including three of the top five ranked available prospects in the class. Texas also got John Meredith III, the No. 2 player in the 2027 class, to reclassify and join the team over the summer. He's already in line to get playing time this fall. Four-stars OT Brian Swanson, DL Kasi Currie and DB Montre Jackson were some of the other big June pledges.

Since, UT has gained commitments from four-star Landen Williams-Callis, the No. 3 RB in the nation. He was the final top-100 prospect to come off the board. His pledge boosted Texas two spots to its current No. 6 ranking. Five-star IOL Ismael Camara gave Longhorns fans some fireworks with a Fourth of July commitment.

The one commit that could be wobbling is five-star Easton Royal. LSU is working very hard to flip the New Orleans native.
